Abel Bravo: Panamanian engineer and professor
Dr. Abel Martiniano del Carmen Bravo Martínez: Ingeniero Civil
Abstract
Bravo was a visionary who recommended to the national government several projects that would take decades to become a reality: roads and railroads to unite the republic, a fill for the Bay of Panama with the earth extracted from the Canal, and in the eroded lands that surrounded the beaches of Bella Vista, "a support and defense wall of about 350 meters in length and at a cost of 80 thousand dollars, which would become part of the boardwalk project starting in the Exposition neighborhood of this city."
His two written works were: Analytical and Commercial Arithmetic Program and Plane Geometry Program. He translated into Spanish and increased Benjamin Greenleaf's Treatise on Elementary Algebra.
