dc.descriptionHaving a safe electrical installation in a home is of great importance, in this way they safeguard from the dangers and risks that a bad installation can cause as well as protect the life of each person and the home. The bad electrical installations and the neglect with the installation of the gas are the most common risks for the end of the year festivities causing fires. Therefore, the objective of the investigation is to evaluate the safety of the electrical installations of the houses in the district of Changuinola, Bocas del Toro Province, Republic of Panama. This study was conducted in the district of Changuinola, where the electrical installation was evaluated by applying a questionnaire to 225 people, in addition to assessing the risks of the electrical installations of 25 homes by applying a checklist as an instrument. The results indicate that 35% of the evaluated homes do not comply with the 2008 NFPA norm and 65% if they comply with the norms.en-US
dc.descriptionTener una instalación eléctrica segura en un hogar es de mucha importancia, de esta manera se salvaguardan de los peligros y riesgos que puede causar una mala instalación como también protegemos la vida de cada persona y del hogar. Las malas instalaciones eléctricas y el descuido con la instauración del gas son los riesgos más comunes para las fiestas de fin de año causantes de incendios. De allí que, el objetivo de la investigación es evaluar la seguridad en las instalaciones eléctricas de las viviendas del distrito de Changuinola. Este estudio se realizó en el distrito de Changuinola, en donde se evaluó la instalación eléctrica aplicando un cuestionario a 225 personas, además de evaluar los riesgos de las instalaciones eléctricas de 25 viviendas aplicando un  checklist como instrumento. Los resultados indican que que el 35% de las viviendas evaluadas no cumplen con la norma NFPA de 2008 y el 65% si cumple con las normas.es-ES
